Date: October 13, 2026
English Session: 12 - 1 p.m. (ET)
French Session: 1:30 - 2:30 p.m. (ET)

More than 80% of Canadians are concerned about the quality of freshwater in Canada

Join us and our partners, Oceans North, de Gaspé Beaubien Foundation, IISD Experimental Lakes, and FLOW (Forum for Leadership On Water) for a special webinar where we explore findings from a national public opinion poll surrounding consultations on Canada's National Water Security Strategy.

The webinar will be offered in both English and French through separate one-hour sessions.

The session will examine Canadians' perspectives on the country's freshwater challenges and priorities for action. We will also dive into their expectations for governments, communities and organizations working to safeguard water resources. We will explore how these findings align with recommendations emerging from leaders and experts across Canada's water sector.

Participants will gain insights into:

  • Key findings from the national public opinion research
  • Canadians' priorities for freshwater protection and management
  • Areas where respondents believe stronger action is needed
  • Connections between public opinion and water sector recommendations
  • Implications for policy, planning and collaboration
