AquaHacking alumni CANN Forecast interviewed on MétéoMédia
The beach season is in full swing and swimmers in Montreal may be wondering about the quality of water at their favorite beach. Nicolas St-Gelais, biologist with CANN Forecast, a company cofounded with Naysan Saran during the AquaHacking Challenge in 2016 that builds solutions to water issues using artificial intelligence, spoke with MétéoMédia (article and video available in French only) about their InteliSwim technology that helps predict water quality at beaches using precipitation and other weather data.
Currently, the City of Montreal uses CANN Forecast’s InteliSwim application and technology. CANN Forecast also offers services to municipalities through their InteliPipes technology which uses municipal data and machine learning to inform decision-makers on how to optimize pipe replacement activities.
Naysan and Nicolas were part of the 2016 AquaHacking Challenge and their team was awarded first place in the finals. Hear more about Naysan and Nicolas’ experience with AquaHacking here.
